THE REAL LIBERATION OF INDIA, PAKISTAN & BANGLADESH:

The division of the Indian (South Asian) Sub-Continent into India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh doesn't matter to me....

I may or may not agree to their reunification....

What matters to me the most is, how well each of these nationalities treats its people...

And the litmus test for the public welfare is: How does each nationality treat its (religious or cultural) minorities?

Well, Pakistan and Bangladesh fare very poorly on this record, so far....

They need to change this radically...

Well, India used to be ardently secular. But things are somewhat different now. Muslims do not feel that much comfortable in India now. But we are confident that things will change in the near future and hardcore Secularism will again rule the roost....

Well, all three countries will change in the future..They will have to change or else they will not be able to face the commands of time and won't be able to survive not just geopolitically but even physically existentially..

The developments which are taking place in these countries signify this trend, even though it is in the pre-natal stage. (For instance, do you know that the Hindu population in Pakistan is rising faster than the Muslim population there. The reason for this could be: Almost all Hindus in Pakistan are poor while several Muslims are rich..So, all poor Hindus are not adapting to family planning while some rich Muslims are. Even then it shows a trend that opposes the pro-Mislim demographic growth trend that was in vogue post-partition...As for Bangladesh, the more Secular Sheikh Haseena has a much stronger edge over the more rightist Khalida Zia for many years now....)

It may take time but I am confident that all these three countries will become strongholds of prosperity and harmony...

I am quite confident that India will have a Muslim Prime Minister in the next 50 to 75 years and Pakistan will have a Hindu Prime Minister in the next 150 to 200 years....

Having a head of the state who belongs to a minority and antagonistic religious community represents the maturity of its socio-political system..

It doesn't matter whether the country is small or big. What really matters is how well each country treats its citizens...

Let every village become an independent country but let each of them become strongholds of prosperity and harmony...

*Long Live Liberalism*

*Long Live Comprehensive Secularism*
